Privacy Policy
Effective date: 16 February 2026
EuroRider ("we", "us", or "our") operates the EuroRider virtual cycling club platform. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We are committed to protecting your privacy and will never use your data for commercial purposes.
1. Data We Collect
When you use EuroRider, we may collect the following categories of personal data:
- Account information – name, email address, and profile picture.
- Cycling performance data – activity records, ride statistics, power output, heart rate, speed, distance, elevation, and related metrics imported from connected platforms (Strava, Zwift, Rouvy, MyWhoosh, TrainingPeaks Virtual).
- Event participation data – registrations, results, and attendance for club events and challenges.
- Social profile links – links to your public profiles on third-party platforms that you choose to share (e.g., Strava profile URL, social media handles).
- Technical data – IP address, browser type, and access timestamps collected automatically when you use the platform.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data exclusively for community-building purposes:
- Displaying your profile and cycling statistics to other club members.
- Compiling leaderboards, club rankings, and event results.
- Facilitating communication and social interaction among members.
- Organising and managing virtual cycling events and challenges.
- Improving the platform's functionality and user experience.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising, marketing, or any other commercial purpose.
3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
We process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Consent – you provide consent when you create an account and connect third-party platforms.
- Legitimate interest – operating and improving the club platform for the benefit of its members.
- Contract performance – providing the services you signed up for as a club member.
4. Data Sharing
Your cycling performance data, event participation, and profile information may be visible to other EuroRider members as part of normal platform functionality (e.g., leaderboards, member directories, event results). We do not share your data with external organisations for commercial use.
We may share data with service providers who assist us in operating the platform (e.g., hosting providers), but only under strict data-processing agreements that prevent them from using your data for their own purposes.
5. Third-Party Platform Integration
When you connect your Strava, Zwift, Rouvy, MyWhoosh, or TrainingPeaks Virtual account, we access your activity data through their official APIs in accordance with their terms of service. You can disconnect these integrations at any time from your account settings, after which we will stop importing new data from those platforms.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it for a longer period. Anonymised or aggregated data that can no longer identify you may be retained indefinitely for statistical purposes.
7. Your Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access – request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification – ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure – request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Restriction – ask us to limit how we process your data.
- Portability – receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection – object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Withdraw consent – withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below.
8. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encrypted data transmission (TLS), secure server infrastructure, and access controls limiting who can view your data.
9. Cookies
EuroRider uses only essential cookies required for the platform to function (e.g., authentication and session management). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.
10. Children's Privacy
EuroRider is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the platform. The "Effective date" at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
